    Research Status of Iron Removal Technology in Coal-series Kaolin

    • Objective Coal-series kaolin is mainly associated with coal. It is a valuable natural resource and an important non-metallic mineral. However, the coal-series kaolin contains a large number of iron minerals, which is easy to make the raw materials yellow or brick red when roasting at high temperature. This affects the quality of calcined products and is not conducive to the subsequent resource utilization process. Therefore, in the subsequent deep treatment process of coal-series kaolin, the iron removal measures must be taken in advance. Method This article summarizes several common iron removal technologies of coal-series kaolin, the advantages and disadvantages of each technique are discussed in detail. Result The types, quantities and occurrence states of various impurities in coal-bearing kaolin vary due to their different causes and types. Conclusion Therefore, the iron removal of coal-based kaolin must be combined with practice to determine the optimal scheme and process parameters.
