Research Status and Prospects of Ceramic Materials Prepared from Metallurgical Solid Waste

    • The main components of metallurgical solid waste such as steel slag, blast furnace slag, red mud, and zinc kiln slag are various metal oxides such as Al2O3, Fe2O3, CaO, SiO2, MgO, etc., making them important additives in ceramic production and widely used. This article introduces the current application status of metallurgical solid waste in the preparation of ceramic materials, and systematically elaborates on sintering formulas, sintering mechanisms, and other aspects. The specific effects of metal oxides such as Fe2O3, Al2O3, SiO2, MgO, CaO on the ceramic sintering process and the comprehensive effect of multiple oxides on the ceramic sintering process were explained in detail. Finally, further research directions were prospected.
