Soil-formation Disposal of Mineral Mud by Modifiers-fertiliser-sweet Sorghum Combination

    • Objective In order to solve the problem of mineral mud disposal in the alumina industry, Method the effect of modifier-fertilizer-sorghum synergism on the soil-formation disposal process of mineral mud was investigated by using dehydrated mineral mud as the matrix, fly ash, and red mud as modifiers and applying fertilizer at the same time. Result The addition of amendments improved the physical and chemical properties and nutrient levels of the mineral mud matrix, and promoted the improvement of the physical structure of the soil formed by the soil-formation disposal of the mineral mud. The growth of sweet sorghum promoted the improvement of the micro-ecosystem of the loam in each treatment. At the end of the growth period of sweet sorghum, compared with the control, the contents of organic matter, ammonium nitrogen, available potassium and available phosphorus in the soil treated loam were increased by 0.37, 0.47, 1.10, and 1.30 times, respectively. The total number of microbial community species, community diversity and richness of the loam in each treatment were improved to varying degrees. Conclusion It can be seen that the synergistic effect of modifiers-fertilizer-sweet sorghum promoted the soil-formation disposal process of mineral mud, which explored a new way to solve the problem of large amount of mine slime storage and lack of soil resources in karst mountainous areas.
