Abstract
Objective Phosphogypsum, a by-product of the wet-process phosphoric acid industry, is one of the largest industrial solid wastes in the world in terms of emissions and stockpiles. It is rich in valuable elements such as calcium, sulfur, silicon, fluorine, phosphorus, rare earth elements, etc., and the efficient recovery of valuable elements in phosphogypsum is of great significance to the resource utilization of phosphogypsum. Method&Result This article systematically summarizes the composition and existence state of valuable elements in phosphogypsum, analyses the current research status of valuable elements recovery in phosphogypsum, puts forward the bottlenecks in the research and technical application of valuable elements recovery in phosphogypsum at the present stage, and looks forward to the future technological development trend of recovery of valuable elements in phosphogypsum, Conclusion with a view to providing references to the recovery of strategic resources in phosphogypsum and their high-value utilisation.
