Abstract
Objective The flotation tailings of the lithium-containing kaolin mine of a certain mining company in Yichun mainly consist of quartz and albite, which meets the conditions for preparing ceramic raw materials and can be used for firing ceramics. Method The elemental and mineral compositions of the lithium-containing kaolin flotation tailings were analyzed. The raw ore, flotation tailings, and the magnetic and non-magnetic products of the flotation tailings after magnetic separation were analyzed by XRD. After magnetic separation and impurity removal, the main mineral components of each component were still quartz and albites, and the impurity Fe2O3 in the non-magnetic products was significantly reduced. Result The tailings after magnetic separation treatment, combined with other raw materials, firing end temperature 1 070 ℃, ZP.M18/B artificial intelligence resistance furnace, atmospheric oxidation atmosphere, firing period of 6 h, can obtain 72% whiteness, 83% gloss, water absorption of 0.4%. Thermal shock resistance 180~20 ℃ heat exchange once did not crack, all indicators are in line with national standards. Conclusion It provides a certain reference value for the integrated and efficient utilization of the same type of tailings resources.
