Determination of Rare Earth Elements in Panxi Fluorocerium Ores

    • Objective To rapidly and accurately determine rare earth elements in fluorocerium rare earth ores from Panxi, Method this study compared three digestion systems: the open acid digestion method using hydrochloric acid-sulfuric acid-hydrofluoric acid-perchloric acid-nitric acid, the open acid digestion method using hydrochloric acid-hydrofluoric acid-perchloric acid-nitric acid, and the sodium peroxide alkaline fusion method. An open acid digestion pretreatment method using hydrochloric acid-hydrofluoric acid-perchloric acid-nitric acid was established, and ICP-AES/ICP-MS was employed to measure rare earth elements in this type of rare earth ore. Result The method was applied to fluorocerium rare earth ore composition standard materials (GBW07892, GBW07893) from Panxi, with measured values consistent with certified values, a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 0.03%~1.85%, and recovery rates of each measured element ranging from 94.2% to 103.3%. Conclusion This method features a simple analysis process, a wide measurement range, and accurate and reliable results, meeting the requirements for determining rare earth elements in large batches of fluorocerium rare earth ore samples from Panxi.
