    The Comprehensive Utilization of Ilmenite Separation of Baima iron Tailings from Pan Zhi Hua

    • The Baima tailings(locaked in Panzhihua) from iron magnetic separation of a poor grade vandaium-titanium magnetite contain 5.95% TiO2 and 10.51% Fe respectively, which has not been comprehensively utilized for some reasons. This paper focus on separation ilmenite from iron tailings of a V-Ti magnetite ore in Pan Zhi Hua area,which aims on discussing the possiibility of re-utilization of the resources. According to the mineralogy of iron tailings, the effect of magnetic field intensity, grinding fineness, magnetic stroke, specific water-cycle and rotary speed on the separation results were studied. Therefore, a combination beneficiation flowsheet of high?gradient?magnetic separation-flotation was developed. Finanly, titanium concentrate with TiO2 grade of 47.31% and TiO2 recovery of 39.52% was achieved . Therefore, the development of this technology has build a solid technical foundation for the utilization of tailings resources, thus providing technical support for the comprehensive utilization of domestic vanadium and titanium resources.
